Biography 

Dr. Maolin Guo received his B.S. degree in biochemistry and M.S. degree in inorganic chemistry from Shanxi University in 1989. He received his Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the University of Edinburgh in 2000 and his postdoctoral training in molecular biology and biochemistry at University of California Irvine from 2001 to 2003.

In 2004, Dr. Guo joined the faculty of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where he is currently a professor of chemistry and biochemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He also holds a graduate faculty appointment in the Department of Chemistry, University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is a co-Director of the Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology PhD program and also a funding Director of the UMass Cranberry Health Research Center. Dr. Guo is the recipient of “Faculty Career Development Award” in 2001 from the University of California Irvine and “Scholar of the Year Award” in 2014 from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Dr. Guo’s research program has been funded by NSF, NIH, Parkinson research foundations, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Industry.
